TECHNOLOGY MAKES SKIN HANDS AS TOUCHSCREEN

The engineers at Carnegie Mellon University, in collaboration with researchers from the Group Future interfaces provide intelligent management technology for SmartWatch. This technology does not require a touch screen or the device itself.

The development, called SkinTrack consisting of a special and sensitive ring-receptor as a bracelet on the wrist, to make along the skin of the hand on the touch screen. Once the ring finger with the touch of the hand, like a high-frequency signal generated by the instrument begins to distribute throughout the skin. Bracelet, in cooperation with the electrodes, which detect the signals, calculates the distance to the finger and the gesture to be identified.

The technology can detect contact with 99% accuracy and will cause no problems dialing a phone number, SMS messages or write while playing. The introduction of such a development was significantly increased the likelihood of portable SmartWatch with small touch screens to press almost impossible if the content is displayed, has very small images or a large amount of minutes written text.
